Arthuriana
Most of these articles (unless specified otherwise) originally appearing in Ceridwen's Cauldron, the magazine of the Oxford Arthurian Society.- How Culhwch won Olwen - A brief look at this tale from the Mabinogian.
- King Arthur on the Fringe - Descriptions/reviews of two arthurian shows on the 1994 Edinburgh Fringe.
- Parsley, Sage, Kippers and Pervert's Trousers - Arthurian only because it is about songs the Oxford Arthurian Society like to sing.
- Arthurian Literature - A survey article I wrote for the GEAS online roleplaying encyclopedia.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer
- Rivalries (PDF) - Fanfic set early in season 2 before Buffy and Angel start dating. This is sort of a Buffy/Mr. Vampire cross-over except without all the truly silly bits in Mr. Vampire (i.e. most of it) or any Kung-Fu. Contains a Mary Sue.
Dr Who
All my Dr Who and Torchwood fanfiction in one PDF file
- Strange Meeting (PDF) - Doctor Who fiction featuring the 5th Doctor and Nyssa. This was supposed to be part of a sequence of stories, Storm God Rising, by several authors featuring the same villain (the storm demon Achmael). This segment should have appeared about 1/2 way through. Warning - features Mary Sue.
- Review of the Time Lord RPG written for the GEAS encyclopedia.
- Why I Hate Jason Kane written for Oh Yes It Is! a short-lived Benny Summerfield fanzine which died before this article appeared.
- Facts and Fiction - an article losely connected to Dr Who (it uses several examples from it and was prompted by a discusion on Allen Road, a Dr Who mailing list). This was originally written for The Troglodyte a general tele-fantasy based fanzine with leanings towards Dr Who which died before this article appeared.
- Fiction and Facts - which has nothing at all to do with Dr Who but was written as a companion piece to the above. This is me venting my spleen against Kevin Warwick.
- The Web of Time (PDF) - This was more a vignette than as story. I never went anywhere with the idea and had no particular idea who "the swimmers" mentioned in it were. It possibly benefits from the absense of Mary Sue and appeared in the Eye of Orion which, for a change, didn't actually fold before the story was published!
- The Nightmare of Bethlehem (PDF) - This was supposed to be the first installement in a sequence of stories about a Doctor played by Geoffrey Rush. The idea was that of "Brax" from the JadePagoda news group and he ran the project for a while. Only a few stories were ever actually produced however and the project fizzled. This story was intended as the first in the sequence and was based on an idea for aliens suggested by Simon Bucher-Jones.
- The Feast of St. Crispin Crispianus (PDF) - The cunning thing about this story is that I've disguised Mary Sue as the Doctor.
- Tears, Sarah Jane (PDF) - I think this may have been the first piece of fanfic I wrote. Dug out from an old notebook.
- The Daughters of Theogenes (PDF) - Another early piece of fanfic. I remember being terribly proud of it at the time but 20 years later it reads as desperately earnest and rather dull. The ending was so horribly, horribly trite that I had to rewrite it. It's still pretty trite but at least it doesn't make my toes curl with embarrassment.
- Snowstorm (PDF) - Flashfic written for a fandom stocking. The recipient liked 10/Rose and 10/Rose/Jack but didn't like angst.
- The Skull and the Soldier (PDF) Primeval Crossover.
Thanks: To my beta-reader, fredbassett
- Be Yourself (PDF).

NCIS
- Three Things Ziya David does when told she has a Day to Live (PDF) - ficlet from a prompt by rodlox
Primeval
All my Primeval fanfiction in one PDF file
Dragonfly over Kazakhstan (PDF) - This is largely rodlox's fault for using the words "run with it" in connection with my nanites drabble. That one was played for laughs, this one is not. However its the first time in years I've felt really driven to write fic so thanks are due. In style it owes a big debt to Dan Simmons' Ilium/Olympos cycle - especially the cable car. In retrospect some of the imagery would also appear to come from Ken MacLoed's Newton's Wake.
Thanks are also due to my beta readers, fredbassett and rodlox.
Warning: One use of strong language.
- Making Teams, Breaking Teams (PDF) - A Torchwood crossover.
Thanks: To my beta-reader, the ever helpful fredbassett in particular for pointing out, ever so nicely, that the first draft I sent her was virtually impossible to follow. And to hallowstranger for the prompt: "A crossover with Doctor Who/Torchwood that doesn't have to do with dinosaurs or anamolies." and a request that the story be Connor-centric.
Warning: Mild language.
- Head, Hand and Heart (PDF)
Thanks: To my beta-reader, fredbassett.
Warning: Language, Presumes Stephen and Ryan are in a relationship.
Note: I wrote two follow up drabbles to this called Creepy Crawlies and Food of the Fairies.
- Accidents and Meetings (PDF)
Thanks: To my beta-reader, fredbassett.
Note: A follow up to the drabble Family. It was followed up in turn by reggietate

- The Night Before Christmas (PDF) (fanon (see under Lester/Lyle and Tanya Lacey))
Written for the primeval_denial siegefic challenge.
Thanks: To my beta-readers, munchkinofdoom and reggietate who also did Lacey picks.
- Blessing (PDF) - A fixit for Rain because people came after me with pitchforks.
- Connor Writes (PDF) - Combining two prompts: "I'd enjoy a story where Connor saves the day - and maybe Abby as well - without reducing her to the role of a damsel in distress. He's often the sidekick so let's have him step up in this one" and "At one point during the series, we saw a female special forces soldier. It would be nice to have a story where the special forces are involved but they're not all male. They don't, however, have to be the focus of the story."
- Primeval by Gaslight (PDF) - From the prompt: "Shift the time frame back a bit, say a hundred and fifty years or so, but with the same team members."
Thanks: To my beta-reader, rodlox
and
Examination by Lamp Light (same PDF as above) - A missing scene from the above written as a remix of fififolle's Examination.
Thanks: To my beta-reader, rodlox who is not responsible for my decisions to use wandering tense and strange punctuation of speech (the latter is Bram Stoker's fault).
- A Day in the Life (Rated Mature, 15+) (PDF) - From the prompt: "Lester just wishes they'd all stop being a pain in the neck and leave him in peace"
Thanks: To my beta-reader, lil_shepherd

- Primeval 100 Pirates (PDF) - 10 drabbles, based on the first 10 prompts in primeval100, based around the idea of Jenny and Sarah as pirates. To be honest it didn't even make much sense at the time.
- Merry Go Round (PDF) - From the prompts: "Betrayal of Trust", "If You Believe in Love at First Sight, You Never Stop Looking", "The Difference Between Love and Lust is that Love is Always Deadly" given by sunset_dinos
Thanks: To my beta-reader, Alyse

(PDF) (fanon (see under McAllister, Wells and Crane, Tanya Lacey and Mary Tremayne)) - From the prompt: "They came through an Anomaly back to their Present Day - and they find a world whose changes are not cosmetic." given by rodlox. He also requested that the story focus on three OCs which it does.

Tolkien
- J. R. R. Tolkien - Brief Biography of Tolkien written for the GEAS online roleplaying encyclopedia.
- Why is it so hard to Role-play in Middle Earth - Originally appeared in the GEAS Magazine. Re-reading this several years after it was written suggests to me that my RP experiences up to that point had not been high quality.
Torchwood
All my Dr Who and Torchwood fanfiction in one PDF file
